Investigation Shows Hot Air Balloon Was Losing Air

There are new details about the June first hot air balloon crash in Burlington.

The NTSB released a preliminary report which states that after the balloon landed and was losing air, it blew toward the train and caught one of the cars on fire. The report also says that the conductor on the Canadian National freight train reported the train was traveling northbound when it was hit by the balloon. That’s when the conductor immediately put the train into an emergency stop.

A final report is expected in the coming months.
