PFAS Regulation Moves Forward


The rules for so-called forever chemicals in Wisconsin are moving forward.

The Republican-controlled legislature yesterday signaled that it will allow the state’s Department of Natural Resources to set standards for PFAS chemical pollution in the state. PFAS chemicals come from many places, but are tied to firefighting foam, and there are worries about what the chemicals can do. Wisconsin’s standards are identical to the federal regulations, though they are higher than some in Wisconsin wanted.
