There is a push to build a new homeless shelter in Eau Claire.
Members of the Chippewa Valley Day Resource Center Steering Committee are looking for a place to build a new day shelter. The county’s Karen Petersin says a new day shelter would help get people out of the sun during the summer and out of the cold during the winter. The committee is eying land near downtown as they look towards fundraising efforts.
The hope is to have a shelter open by 2025.
