There’s a request to be turtle-aware in Wisconsin.
The state’s Department of Natural Resources yesterday said turtles are looking to lay their eggs over the next couple of weeks. That means more turtles will be out on the roads, especially near wetlands. DNR says Wood turtles and Blanding’s turtles are especially vulnerable right now.
The state wants you to report any turtle crossings you see, so they can better track turtles in the state.
