Most students continue to like UW-Madison, though more students say they don’t like the idea of campus police.
The university yesterday released its second campus climate survey. It shows that 74 percent of students feel welcome on campus, 76 percent feel respected, and 77 percent feel safe. The school says the numbers are slightly lower for LGBTQ+ students, but no one is saying how much lower. The survey also shows that 60 percent of students say they’re not comfortable with campus police because of their worries about law enforcement. That’s up by over ten percent from the last survey back in 2016.
The university says most students didn’t take the survey, just 28 percent of students and faculty members bothered to respond.
