One of Wisconsin’s smallest and poorest counties is also the state’s least healthy.
The new University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute report says Menominee County in the northeastern part of the state is dead last in their rankings. The report states that 27 percent of people in the county are in poor or fair health, and just five percent of people have access to exercise equipment. The report also says that 37 percent of Menominee County’s children live in poverty. There are just over 45 hundred people in Menominee County.
