A lighthouse on the Door Peninsula is added to the Wisconsin State Register of Historic Places.
The Wisconsin Historical Society says the Kewaunee Pierhead Lighthouse was added to the register of historic places because of its role in maritime transportation and commerce. The lighthouse was built as a fog signal building in 1909 and converted into a lighthouse in 1931.
