The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is just now installing carbon monoxide detectors in all of its dorms.
The school yesterday said crews are doing all they can to make sure students are safe. The move comes after a carbon monoxide leak at a dorm late Monday night sent 17 students to the hospital, and put about 400 or so out on the street overnight. The school said, up until now, none of its dorms had carbon monoxide detectors.
UWM says building codes in Milwaukee don’t require them for dorms.
