Wisconsin’s governor isn’t saying if he is for or against the idea of tougher bails for some criminals in the state. Governor Tony Evers avoided giving an answer on Capital City Sunday over the weekend.
The state legislature last week approved a constitutional amendment that would have judges look at the severity of a crime when determining bail. The move comes after the suspect in the Waukesha Christmas Parade attack was released on a low bail just days before police say he sped through the parade.
Governor Evers says he wants to “have all parties” involved in any discussion of changing bail laws.
