Madison city leaders express solidarity with the people of Ukraine fighting against a Russian military invasion force.
As hundreds of supporters of the Ukrainian people rallied at the state capitol yesterday, the city issued a statement of support. Mayor Satya Rhodes Conway and members of the city’s Common Council condemned the Russian action and called for an end to the hostilities. The city statement calls the invasion “unprovoked” and advocates for the efforts of the United States to “continue to pursue peace” through diplomacy.
