Workers at Oshkosh Corporation want to build the next generation USPS mail delivery vehicle.
A workers’ rally was held yesterday calling on the defense contractor’s management not to move the project to a South Carolina site. Local 578 Union President Bob Lynk says the company is still the town’s largest employer despite seeing the number of workers drop to 16-hundred from 31-hundred ten years ago. For now, a company statement says the USPS next generation delivery vehicle project will have its NGDV Technical Center in Oshkosh while the vehicle itself will be manufactured at a site in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
