Voters will be able to use ballot drop boxes in the February primary after all.
The Wisconsin Supreme Court of Friday issued a 4-3 ruling that allows cities or counties to collect ballots in the drop boxes for the February 15th primary. After that, the court says, they will take a look at the issue again. Swing justice Brian Hagedorn sided with the court’s liberal justices in saying the February election is just too close to change the rules now.
The court’s conservative justices say Wisconsin law does not allow for drop boxes, and criticized Hagedorn for giving the drop boxes one more election.
