More than two dozen sites in Wisconsin with Indian names are about to get new names.
The Department of the Interior is in the process of renaming hundreds of sites across the country with Indian references or slurs in their names. There are 28 places in Wisconsin on that list, all of them with the word squaw in their name. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland says racism shouldn’t be on the map in this country.
