It’s official, 2021 is the deadliest year on record in the city of Milwaukee.
Police say two homicides over the weekend pushed the city’s homicide total to 192. That’s two more than last year’s record setting year. Police acknowledge the spike in homicides and shootings, but don’t have any answers. Milwaukee’s new record comes about a week after Milwaukee County reported a new homicide record as well.
Several cities across the country have also set new homicide or murder records this year as well.
