Wisconsin is starting the week with a small drop in its coronavirus hospitalization numbers.
The state’s Hospital Association yesterday reported just over 16-hundred people are hospitalized with the virus, that’s down 50 from the start of law week. The Hospital Association says over 400 people remain in ICUs across the state. The Hospital Association does not track how many people are hospitalized with the virus, as opposed to those hospitalized because of it.
But the larger message is calling for caution. There is a new plea to mask-up and get vaccinated in Wisconsin.
The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday issued a public health advisory ahead of the holidays. Health Secretary Karen Timberlake says Wisconsin is seeing coronavirus case numbers that we haven’t seen since the end of last year. She’s asking everyone to wear a mask while around co-workers or friends this holiday season, and she is once again asking people to get vaccinated.
Timberlake says hospitals across the state are reaching the breaking point as hospitalizations continue to increase. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FROM WI DHS.
