It was a cooking fire that had responders out ahead of Thanksgiving.
On Tuesday November 25, 2021 at 17:51, The Eau Claire Fire Department responded to 215 Hudson Street for an appliance fire in a residence.
When fire units arrived on scene, they found heavy smoke in the kitchen from a grease fire coming from a pot on a stove top. The first arriving engine company was able to quickly extinguish the fire by using a frying pan to cover the involved pot, and an extinguisher to knock down the surrounding fire on the stove top.
The occupants of the residence were able evacuate safely and resume occupancy in the home after the fire. The cause fire remains under investigation.
