No one is really sure just how many Afghan refugees Madison will get.
Jewish Social Services, which is the lead relocation agency for Afghans in Madison, said 35 refugees are already in town, and they expect at least 40 more. But JSS also says the number of refugees expected to stay in Wisconsin as a whole changes frequently. One of the biggest challenges for refugee families in Madison is finding affordable apartments that are large enough to accommodate large families.
