Man Facing Charges After Shooting K9 Officer

An Illinois man is looking at a long list of charges for a shooting that left a Kenosha County police dog wounded.

The D.A. in Kenosha filed formal charges yesterday against Allan Brown. The most serious charge is a weapons charge, though he’s also charged with mistreatment of a law enforcement animal. Prosecutors say Brown fired at a Kenosha County deputy during a traffic stop last month. One of the bullets fired in the shootout hit K9 Riggs. The dog survived and Brown was arrested.
