Jury selection starts today in Wisconsin in the Kyle Rittenhouse trial.
Kenosha County Circuit Judge Bruce Schroeder is presiding over the legal proceedings. Rittenhouse is charged with homicide and attempted homicide in the shooting deaths of Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber in August of 2020. The shootings happened during a street protest in Kenosha.
The defense claims Rittenhouse fired his weapon in self defense and was in Kenosha to help protect businesses from looters. The prosecution says the accused, who was 17-years old at the time of the shootings, was aggressively intent on using violence to confront anyone who disagreed with his opinions.
