There’s another investigation into last year’s election, and this time it’s from law enforcement.
Racine County Sheriff Christopher Schmaling yesterday unveiled evidence that he says shows the Wisconsin Elections Commission broke the law when it banned special voting deputies from nursing homes across the state then told workers in those homes to fill-out ballots for people who were unable to do it themselves. The sheriff says WEC sent that order to every nursing home in the state.
We’ll show you different sides so you can decide, as Elections Commission Chairwoman Ann Jacobs yesterday said WEC didn’t do anything wrong. Schmaling says Wisconsin’s attorney general needs to take over the investigation immediately. But the static continues. There’s no shortage of Republicans who say the head of Wisconsin’s Elections Commission must resign.
Assembly Speaker Robin Vos yesterday led the chorus of Republicans yesterday who said WEC Administrator Meagan Wolfe must resign following claims from the Racine County sheriff that the commission broke state law last year. Vos says there’s clearly a case of severe mismanagement at the WEC. State Rep. Joe Sanfelippo said not only does Wolfe need to go, he wants any and all staffers involved in the Racine case to be fired as well.
