Wisconsin health officials are supporting the CDC’s call for COVID-19 booster shots.
The Department of Health Services said Friday it encourages people to get the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson boosters the CDC green-lighted this week along with boosters of the Pfizer vaccine. People 65 or older who have received the Moderna vaccine can get a booster six months after their second of the original two-dose regimen. Boosters also are available to people age 18 and older if they have underlying health conditions or work or live in a setting that puts them at higher risk of contracting the virus.
Anyone 18 or older who got the Johnson & Johnson vaccine can get a booster two months after receiving the initial single-shot dose.
