You’re soon going to have to dial more numbers to connect a call in Wisconsin.
Ten-digit dialing begins in two weeks in the state. The change won’t mean too much for people who primarily use cell phones, but anyone using a landline will need to start to add the area code to all calls. While the switch begins on October 24th, the FCC says seven digit numbers will continue to connect for a few weeks after that. The idea is to push people to use the area code for all calls so the FCC can assign more numbers to new phones.
