A Barron County crash remains under investigation. It was on Monday, September 6th just after 1 a.m when a call came in to the Barron County 911 Center about a one vehicle crash at 12th Street and Hwy B, east of Cumberland.
Deputies from the Barron County Sheriff’s Department along with the Cumberland Ambulance, Cumberland Fire Department, North Memorial Helicopter and Cumberland Police Department responded to the scene.
Initial investigation shows a vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign on 12th Street at Hwy B and rolled into the ditch. A 17 year old driver from Cumberland was transported to Cumberland Hospital and later transported to Regions Hospital in MN with serious injuries and a 16 year old passenger from Fredric was flown to Regions Hospital in MN with serious injuries.
The crash is being reconstructed by the WI State Patrol. Speed and drugs are suspected to be contributing factors in the crash. This crash remains under investigation.
