A coalition of animal rights groups is asking a judge to stop Wisconsin’s next wolf hunt.
The groups filed a lawsuit yesterday claiming the state’s Department of Natural Resources set the quota for this year’s hunt too high and voted against the wishes of scientists and conservationists. The lawsuit also says DNR’s decision should be canceled because one of the board members is a hold-over from the Walker Administration.
DNR’s board last month set the quote for this year’s wolf hunt at 300 wolves. The groups say that’s far too high.
