Xcel customers are going to pay more to cover the cost of going green.
The utility yesterday said bills will go up next year by more than five dollars per-month for the average customer. Xcel’s Chris Ouellette says the price hike will go to pay for the utility’s renewable energy projects. Xcel wants to be 100-percent carbon free by 2050.
