The Wisconsin Department of Health Services is reporting 47 new cases of COVID-19 in Eau Claire County as of Thursday’s update.
This week, health officials said that 34 counties in the state, including Eau Claire County, are currently transmitting COVID-19 cases at a “very high” rate. Local hospitals are feeling the impact of increasing COVID-19 cases as beds continue to fill up.
Representatives for HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital say they are consistently at or near capacity. Marshfield Medical Center administrators are reporting the same, saying they are still preparing for more cases.
