For those who spent all of quarantine with their pups, today’s the day to give them a little extra treat.
National Dog Day was started in 2004 and continues today with more Dog owners than before as ownership increased by eleven-percent in 2020 according to the American Pet Products Association. The day is meant to celebrate those furry friends that comfort us during rough times and those who save lives.
And for those who don’t have a Dog, this could be the perfect time to adopt as many studies have shown that pet ownership has benefits to mental and physical health.
In fact, many of our local shelters are seeing more surrenders than usual and urge adoption if you are ready “fur” your new best fried.
