The legal fight over Wisconsin’s new political map is continuing.
The Republican-led legislature this week asked a judge to toss out a lawsuit from some voter-advocates who want the court to draw the state’s new political map. The voters’ lawsuit also says Wisconsin’s current political map is unconstitutionally out of date. Republican lawmakers say the voters filed their lawsuit one day after the state received the new Census numbers, and the request to have the court draw the map is completely out of bounds.
The Wisconsin Constitution says lawmakers get to draw the maps. There’s no word on when the court will rule on either lawsuit.
