Republican lawmakers want to stop the UW System from requiring coronavirus vaccines.
State Senator Steve Nass on Wednesday said he is going to ask for a new rule that would ban the university, or any state agency, from requiring a coronavirus shot before students can return to school. Nass wants a vote next week so the order would be in place when students return to campus in September. UW President Tommy Thompson says he doesn’t want to be handcuffed in the school’s coronavirus response.
Across the aisle, Democrats at the Capitol say Nass doesn’t care about the lives of students at the university.
