If you are waking up after a night of storms, it’s a new day.
For many, the sun will give a lot of people their first look at what last night’s storms left behind. The chainsaws will be out from Eau Claire to Kenosha after a line of strong and severe storms cut across the state. There are no reports of any serious injuries, but there are plenty of reports of damage. The National Weather Service issued several tornado warnings as part of the storm system.
There are flooded streets and downed power lines in many communities. Utilities in the state say tens of thousands of people lost power during the worst of the storms. The National Weather Service says teams will need a day or so to see just how bad the storms were.
Here in our area, Xcel Energy says thousands of people lost power at some point last night. Crews spent the early morning trying to get the lights back on.
