Oneida Nation is celebrating the decision by the Cleveland Indians to change their nickname.
The major league baseball team announced today it will change the name to the Guardians effective at the end of the season. Oneida Nation issued a statement saying it is a great but small victory to see the removal of derogatory mascots that exude racism and stereotypes. Officials say there are still national sports teams they hope will follow suit and re-brand and change their image.
