Some of Wisconsin’s citizen soldiers are heading to the southwest to help along the border with Mexico.
The Wisconsin National Guard announced the deployment yesterday. About 125 soldiers from the 229th Engineer Company based in Prairie du Chien and Richland Center will head-out. Commanders say the troops will assist along the southern border for up to a year.
