The top Republicans in Wisconsin say former President Trump is misinformed about the election challenge in the state.
The former president over the weekend suggested that Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Senate Majority Leader Devin LeMahieu didn’t do enough to recount or check the vote totals from last November. Trump said Republicans need to demand a full forensic review. Vos and LeMahieu said the former president is ‘misinformed,’ and said Republicans are currently pushing two investigations into the November election.
A former Wisconsin Supreme Court justice is now looking into questions about last year’s election.
Republican leaders over the weekend said former justice Michael Gableman will oversee a ‘review.’ Republicans say the latest election review will be non-partisan. Republican lawmakers are both holding hearings into last year’s voting and have launched an independent investigation into what Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has called ‘shenanigans.’ Democrats in the state are dismissive of all of the election reviews.
They say Joe Biden won, and it’s time to move on.
