One of Wisconsin’s National Guard units is heading overseas for the first time since the first Gulf War.
About 150 troops with the 107th Maintenance Company, based in Sparta, deployed over the weekend. They will first stop in Texas, then will go to Europe for a multi-national training exercise. Commanders say this is the first trip overseas and the first deployment for many of the troops. There’s no word as to just how long the troops will be deployed.
