The Republicans in charge of Wisconsin’s new state budget say they are not going to let Governor Evers cram policy changes into the state’s spending plan.
State Rep Mark Born and state Senator Howard Marklein on Friday said they’ve cut pieces of the governor’s proposed budget. Marklein says a vaping ban, a minimum wage increase, a ban on no-knock warrants for the police, and allowing cities or counties to start early voting even earlier don’t have anything to do with the budget. Marklein says Republicans will begin to move their budget later this week.
