WI Coronavirus Cases Trend Down, Vaccine Efforts Continue

People continue to test positive for the coronavirus, but the state’s numbers are trending down.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services yesterday reported a seven-day average of 715 positives. That is the fifth straight day that coronavirus cases have dropped. DHS says there are some concerns. Hospitalizations in the state are over 300 once again, and the seven-day positivity-average is at three-point-five percent. That number was at two percent last month. CLICK HERE FOR MORE FROM WI DHS.

When it comes to vaccine efforts, Wisconsin should hit another milestone by the end of the week.

The state’s Department of Health Services yesterday said doctors and nurses have administered three-point-nine-million vaccine doses so far. The state is on pace to hit four-million doses in a matter of days. Just over 40-percent of people in the state have gotten one dose of the vaccine. DHS says 27-percent have gotten both doses.

On the national level, experts say that the U.S. will soon face a new COVID-19 problem, falling demand for a vaccine.  Michael Castner reports.
