Railroad supporters in Eau Claire are excited about Amtrak’s new 15-year plan because the city is a part of it.
Amtrak this week released what it is calling an ‘aspirational’ new plan. It would add 160 new routes across the country, including routes to Eau Claire. Economic Development Manager Aaron White says train service would boost the local economy.
Amtrak is tempering expectations, saying there’s a lot of money that needs to be found before any of the new routes can become reality.
