Republican lawmakers in Madison say they hope they don’t have to subpoena anyone as part of their election investigation, but they’re not ruling it out.
State Rep. Joe Sanfelippo yesterday said the Assembly’s election committee will start an official investigation into last year’s elections. He says the goal is to make sure that everyone followed the law, and to return some trust into the state’s electoral process. Sanfelippo says he expects every witness who will be called will answer the legislature’s questions, but said the panel could issue subpoenas if need be.
