It has been one year to the day since the state of Wisconsin started testing for the coronavirus.
The Department of Health Services announced the state’s first tests on March 2nd, 2020. Since then, crews have performed more than three-million tests. DHS says just over 560-thousand people in the state have tested positive since last March. More than 97-percent of them have fully recovered. When it comes to the efforts to fight the virus, more coronavirus vaccine doses are on their way to Wisconsin.
Johnson & Johnson yesterday said the state is in-line for 47-thousand doses next week. The FDA just approved the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. It is a little less effective than the other vaccines, but it is easier to ship and requires just one dose. The Johnson & Johnson doses will be shipped directly to providers here in the state.
