EC Co. Reports More Cases of UK Strain; WI Daily COVID-19 Cases Remain Steady

Eau Claire County is reporting more cases of the UK strain of COVID-19. 

The county found the first case in the state about a month ago and today two new cases of the variant have been confirmed.  The Eau Claire City-County Health Department says there’s no relationship between the two new patients and neither have traveled or been hospitalized.  There have been five cases of the UK COVID-19 strain confirmed in Wisconsin.

On the state level, Wisconsin Department of Health officials report 657 new COVID-19 cases. 

That number pushes the total of positive cases to just shy of 557-thousand.  There were ten additional deaths reported today raising the number of Wisconsin residents to die from COVID-19 to over six-thousand-200.  There are currently over ten-thousand active cases.
