Two Republican lawmakers want to create a permanent record for police officers in Wisconsin.

Senator Patrick Testin, and state Rep. Ron Tusler are trying again with their idea for a police personnel file that follows an officer or deputy throughout their career. The idea is to make sure other law enforcement agencies know the good and the bad of officers in Wisconsin. The proposal also would create new training standards for both new and veterans officers. Wisconsin’s Democratic Attorney General is on-board with the idea.
