A man is dead after a standoff with police in Hayward.
Police say the resident of the home called police after escaping a hostage situation with a man who broke into their home. The Wisconsin Department of Justice says the man was found dead by a robot camera sent into the home after a long standoff with police. It’s unclear how the man died. The man who escaped is unharmed. The D-O-J is investigating.
