Local Website Focused on Vaccines; Evers Requests More WI Doses

You can now sign-up to get the coronavirus vaccine in Eau Claire County. City-County health director Lieske Giese yesterday said the county is signing people up for shots in the future.

The appointment page on the county’s website lets people know who is eligible, then lets those people get on a waiting list for when there is a dose available. Giese says a lot of people in and around Eau Claire are about to become eligible for the vaccine, so she’s asking for patience.

On the state level, Governor Tony Evers continues to say Wisconsin doesn’t have enough coronavirus vaccine doses.

The governor yesterday said the federal government is in charge of sending the vaccine to the states, and he doesn’t think we have enough. The governor did say he hopes that President Biden can get Wisconsin more. The federal government has allocated nearly 780 thousand doses for Wisconsin, but doctors and nurses have only given-out 285 thousand of those doses.
