Lawmakers in Wisconsin say they see clear racism in the decision not to charge the police officers involved in Jacob Blake’s shooting.
The Legislative Black Caucus yesterday released a statement saying there is ‘blatant racial prejudices’ in the decision. Prosecutors in Kenosha on Tuesday declined to charge the officers, saying Blake fought with them and tried to stab one officer before he was shot.
The Black Caucus said it will continue to demand justice for victims of police brutality. Lawmakers say they will push for reforms to Wisconsin’s criminal justice system this year.
