More than 300 National Guard soldiers will help keep the peace as pro-Trump demonstrations in Washington D.C. are expected to draw thousands.
A Pentagon official says the troops will support the D.C. Metropolitan Police with huge crowds likely on Wednesday and Thursday. The protests are timed to coincide with the official count of the Electoral College votes in Congress on Wednesday.
