The New Year may bring a new effort by Governor Tony Evers to legalize marijuana.
The governor recently told the Journal-Sentinel he was thinking about adding legalizing pot to the 2021 budget to help boost tax revenue. Evers tried to get marijuana possession decriminalized last year and has pushed for legalizing medical marijuana but the Republican dominated legislature defeated both measures.
The governor says more than 80-percent of the state supports medical marijuana.
