Trump hesitated to sign the bill until Sunday because it only provides 600-dollars in stimulus checks to Americans. In a statement after the signing, Trump said he’s notified Congress that he wants Americans to get two-thousand-dollars. The COVID stimulus bill was wrapped in a larger spending package.

Here in our area, the work into workforce continues. Wisconsin’s governor says he hopes to clear the state’s months-long unemployment backlog by the end of the week.
The governor talked about the troubles with the Department of Workforce Development in a year-end interview with WisPolitics. The governor said his office is working to streamline the process at DWD. Nearly 10-thousand people have yet to be paid their unemployment benefits. Some of those people have been waiting since March.
