Eau Claire Parks, Recreation, and Forestry announces that outdoor skating rinks are NOT ready for use due to unseasonably warm weather in December.
Rink installation requires cold temperatures, many layers of water, and frequent flooding. Crews will continue to flood rinks this week as temperature allows. Based on the upcoming forecast, ice is expected to be ready for use the first week in January.
All outdoor rink shelters will be closed this winter to reduce gathering and to mitigate Covid exposure. Light timers have been installed at all outdoor rink locations and will be operational 4pm-9pm daily. CLICK HERE FOR MORE.
