An Eau Claire man who is serving time in a state mental hospital for murder will not be getting out early.
A judge yesterday refused to end James Olson’s sentence. He was found not guilty by reason of insanity for the 2012 murder of Paul Oberle. Olson admitted that he beat Oberle to death with a crowbar. Doctors say Olson has done well under treatment, but also say he would likely regress if released from custody.
