Some of the people who waited weeks or months to get their unemployment benefits in Wisconsin are now being told they have to repay some of that money.
The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development yesterday said it overpaid unemployment claims by 44-million-dollars. Some people who got unemployment checks are now getting letters asking for some of the money back. DWD Interim director Amy Pechacek says some people may not have to repay the state, and that each case is being double-checked on a case-by-case basis.
